A great chest workout exercise to start with is called cable crossover isolation chest exercise. This requires a special machine so it would probably be best to do this at your gym.

First, take hold of the handles that are attached to the overhead pulleys on your exercise machine. Make sure your arms are parallel to the floor. Now, with your palms down, bend slightly at the waist.

Next, bring your arms down in an arc movement until your hands meet. Then reverse the movement on your way back up to your original position.


Definitely, this is one of the best chest workout exercises you can try. After just a few reps of this exercise you will feel the burn. And when you get that feeling, you’ll know you’re that much closer to getting those really huge pecs that you want.

Dumbbell Pullover

You’ll also want to try another great idea for a chest exercise: the dumbbell pullover.

This is a very easy exercise to do. Just remember to use a dumbbell instead of a barbell — which you would use if you were doing the bent arm barbell pullover.

To begin this exercise, lay face-up on a bench. Hold your dumbbell above your chest with your elbows slightly bent, then slowly lower the dumbbell so as to stretch you upper chest.

For the follow-through, you want to slowly lower the dumbbell back down over your head below the bench. This will give you a great stretch.
